We have a scale device which has been successfully uploading data to a SQL 2000 database. We have SQL CE and RDA setup on the SQL 2000 server with IIS. It has worked fine.
Then, we bought a new server, installed SQL 2008 and want the scale device to talk to this new server. I was wondering if we could continue to use the same RDA, but point it to the new server? The scale device sends a login each time it connects, which looks like this:
http://192.168.100.4/CEagentRDA/sscesa20.dll
Network login name here-
Password here-
SQL (actual name of sql server)
farminv ( name of database)
sunny (sql login name)
password (sql password).
This scenario has worked fine until now. According to the RDA setup instructions I had, it didn't matter where the IIS & RDA were set up. I have tried using this same login, but changing the Sql server name & login, but can't seem to make it work. The scale device writes directly to the database, so I would think the RDA is just a pointer. I thought maybe I wasn't using correct syntax. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

I installed CE 2.0 on the new server, but it tells me IIS is not started, but it is. Any thoughts?

This has been resolved. We changed the actual server name to it's IP address and added the relevant login info.
