Hi guys
I will give you a little backround what was the state before my long and tireless struggling with cluster. I had active/passive cluster with SS2K SP4 and hotfix 2040 before. Goal was to remove SS2k to test few scenarios with adding nodes which we will have to perform on production servers. After removig SS2k were installed subsequently on both nodes, adding was finished sccessfully. Then I wanted to apply SP4 and clutched at straws.
Both nodes have Windows 2K3 SP1 installed.
I went through many forums with solutions of similar problems but none helps. Do you have any idea how to install this Service Pack?
Cheers,
Bartek

I forgot to put cluster error message from sqlsp.log to my post, it was enclosed in the post description:
15:57:39 "C:\Temp\1\SqlSetup\Bin\remsetup.exe" C:\WINDOWS\remsetup.ini
16:03:19 Process Exit Code: (2) The system cannot find the file specified.
Maybe it can helps, I did following attempts which I had read it could help:
- installation was done by domain user/admin
- changed user’s variable TMP and TEMP to C:\Temp
- I tried to install from passive, active and from virtual host
- installation files are placed on local drives
I also want to mention that cluster failovers properly, and the SQL Server runs fine.
I really run out of ideas :crying:, any help appreciated.

For those who has encountered similar problem:
Finally I did not find solution (lack of time, other priorities) and do what I should have done days earlier. I removed SQL Server from both nodes 😀 , and installed again from scratch with SP4 and awe hotfix.
During this task following pages were helpful:
http://www.sql-server-performance.com/articles/clustering/uninstall_sqlserver_cluster_p1.aspx
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290991
When I did it I thought to myself: "what's going on? how I should repair one node if it fails and then I have to stop whole cluster?"
My company is going to switch to new SQL Server soon and I am little bit thrilled regarding clustered database server. Guys, could you write me if you do have similar problems with clustered service packed SS2005?
Cheers,
Bartek
