32 bit sql server on 64 bit OS, can it be done? will it work? issues?
the people want to know.
Seriously, someone just did this. New policy all OS must be 64 bit, which we weren't told about, and our 32 bit DB has been installed on this box.
Do we need to have the 64 bit version of SQL server installed?

From what I can tell, haven't done it myself as we are running x64 SQL on our x64 OS's, is the 32 bit SQL will run just fine on x64 using Windows on Windows. IIRC, the max memory used by SQL Server in this case is 4GB, but please, don't take my word on this.
