Hello
I had built several KPI's in a SSAS Cube. Now I want to use the Graphical Elements (green, yellow and red spot) in an SSRS Report.
How can I use those?
I know, that with Performance Point Server Monitoring and Analytics (Dashboard Builder) this is very easy to do. But PPS Planning is dead (Microsoft Announcement) and PPS Monitoring and Analytics only available with Sharepoint Server about Sep 2009. So we need an earlier possibility / solution.
Any help?
Sincerely yours
Severin

You can reference KPIs within SSRS that are stored in SSAS just like anything else. This can be done with SSRS 2005 or 2008. In SSRS 2008 you can utilize the nice Gauge report items to show these off with the radial or linear gauge types.
I do have a short video showing off the use of a KPI with SSRS 2008 here - Did you know? SQL Server 2008 SSRS New Data Visualizations and I have a screenshot of all of the new data visualizations here - Report Builder 2.0 RTM install and overview.
PPS M&A is not the portion that is going away either, v2 will just be incorporated into Office 14 SharePoint Server Enterperise in H1 of 2010 as PerformancePoint Services. PPS Planning is the portion that will no longer be developed on after the release of SP3 this summer. There still will be support for existing customers and if anyone owns MOSS 2007 Enterprise now they can get PerformancePoint Server now.
