Select statement taking time on WAN connection

  Hi,

  I have 2 servers. 1 located at HO through LAN connection and 1 located at DR (around 100 KM). When I run the select query which displays 1 lakh record at HO I get the result in 1 minute, however when I run the same query at DR it takes 20 minutes.

  Can someone please guide me why is this problem occuring ?

  The speed depends on the amount of data you are trying to return, and also the network speed to the WAN location including latency.
