SharePoint and Partioned Tables

    I will like to know if any one here has ever partitioned the "AllDocStreams" table in a SharePoint Database and if so what are the experiences and which thing should be considered before doing it?

    A friend advice not to partition the "AllDocStreams" table in SharePoint. He told me that in case of running into disk space issues it is better to create multiple data files for the SharePoint database and divide the data. After that is done it is easy to move the data files into other disks. According to my friend partioning a table of e thirdparty database is not a good idea. I guess that is the reason why I did not receive any replies.
