District Manager | Regional Manager | Last synch date
DM1 RM1 mm/dd/yyyy
DM1 RM2 mm/dd/yyyy
DM1 RM3 mm/dd/yyyy
DM2 RM2 mm/dd/yyyy
DM2 RM4 mm/dd/yyyy
DM3 RM3 mm/dd/yyyy
I have the report structure something as above, and I have not used the Report wizard
for this report layout. From previous post I got my answer for enabling the "+" toggle
options for each field in this report inorder to get the "Drill Down" look and feel of the report.
Now at present this is the layout of my report:
District Manager | Regional Manager | Last synch date
+ DM1 RM1 mm/dd/yyyy
+ DM1 RM2 mm/dd/yyyy
+ DM1 RM3 mm/dd/yyyy
+ DM2 RM2 mm/dd/yyyy
+ DM2 RM4 mm/dd/yyyy
+ DM3 RM3 mm/dd/yyyy
But I dont want this way, it should look like this (a more drill down look):
In open mode:
District Manager | Regional Manager | Last synch date
- DM1 RM1 mm/dd/yyyy
DM1 RM2 mm/dd/yyyy
DM1 RM3 mm/dd/yyyy
- DM2 RM2 mm/dd/yyyy
DM2 RM4 mm/dd/yyyy
- DM3 RM3 mm/dd/yyyy
In collapsed mode:
District Manager | Regional Manager | Last synch date
+ DM1 RM1 mm/dd/yyyy
+ DM2 RM2 mm/dd/yyyy
+ DM3 RM3 mm/dd/yyyy
Please anyone let me know how this grouping feature can be made available on my report layout
is configured in the BI studio (visual studio BI edition).
Once again I am not using the Report Wizard. More precisely, I add the Report Item by right
clicking my solution in the solution explorer and adding an item ... in my case "Report".
And I want drill down functionality. I got collapsing feature but I want grouping as well as stated
above.
Thanks in advance.

I don't know if there will be a good way to describe this in a post.
You need to add a grouping in your report on the District Manager. In the Group header, display the fields you want to see and the toggle item. In the grouping dialog, set the visible toggle item for the detail of the grouping to be the toggle item in the header.

I have tried doing the grouping but it show only one row
in all the sub group sections. It should show one or more
than one row if any.
i.e it show only one "RM data under DM1" althogh actual data
has "3 RMs under DM1" ... 🙁
District Manager | Regional Manager | Last synch date
+ DM1 RM1 mm/dd/yyyy
+ DM2 RM2 mm/dd/yyyy
+ DM3 RM3 mm/dd/yyyy
Please follow up quickly. Thanks.
