Hello Everyone
I am having an issue with one SQL 2000 box. I can connect to the box, but after a couple seconds, approx 30, my login will be timed out. I will have to select the database name at the top of the list in query analyzer, and press F5 numerous times. I have set the "remote login timeout (s)" and the remote query timeout (s)
What would cause this? What can I check to determine what is causing this? This is happening on only one box. There are other SQL 2000 boxes, and they do not have this issue. None of the SQL 2005 boxes have this issue.
Thanks in advance

Is the SQL server under pressure, i.e. high CPU, % RAM used, Long running queries etc etc

Nothing at all, this is one of the Development boxes, I am the only person on that box. It has about 20 databases on it.
I know the question is very vague, but I am hoping that someone has ran into this problem in the past, and can give me some clue as to where to look. Everyone that connects to this box get the same thing. It is not just from my server to that one. I have used different servers and workstations to create a database connection to that development box.
Not that it is life threatening to the company, but it is frustrating when doing development. Maybe it is time for a rebuild of that box? There has not been any modifications to the box, one day it was doing fine and then the next connection from EM and QA, and now this.
Thanks
