  I was a meeting today and was told there is software available that..

  combines data from multiple SQL databases..non similar SQL databases, with different schemas and different data.

  so this software supposedly allows you to enter in the matching info so you then query or report off this new combined data

  never heard of any software like this...anybody else used anything like this?

  Was it described as software that could query mixed datasources in situ?

  To me it sounds like some form of ETL system that can merge data from several systems into a single target system. In other words, BizTalk.
