Dear All,
I enabled the VIA protocal and stoped the SQL Server services then start I got the below errors
2008-10-07 19:14:58.46 Server Error: 26055, Severity: 16, State: 1.
2008-10-07 19:14:58.46 Server The SQL Server failed to initialize VIA support library [QLVipl.dll]. This normally indicates the VIA support library does not exist or is corrupted. Please repair or disable the VIA network protocol. Error: 0x7e.
2008-10-07 19:14:58.47 Server Error: 17182, Severity: 16, State: 1.
2008-10-07 19:14:58.47 Server TDSSNIClient initialization failed with error 0x7e, status code 0x60.
I disabled the VIA protocal then started my services are started successfully, Here my question is
What is VIA?
Why the SQL Server is not starting when I enable VIA?
What I should do to start the SQL Server services after enabling the VIA?

Virtual Interface Adapter (VIA) protocol works with VIA hardware. Consult your hardware vendor for information about using VIA.
Question:-
1. Why do you need to enable VIA ?
2. Do you have VIA hardware ?

I do not have any requirement to enable the VIA, Just I was testing the protocals and my server did't start, So just I would like to know what it is,
