I recently uninstalled SQL 2005 Standard Edition from a machine and reinstalled it along with SP1, SP2 and KB95606. Now jobs hang. It doesn't matter if they are scheduled or I execute them manually. As a test, I expand the SQL Server Agent container, expand Jobs and then right-click a job and start it. Then the dialog pops up saying that it has started. It stays in the Executing state. If I go into Job Activity Monitor it shows that it is executing. Right-clicking and stopping a job does nothing. It stays in executing status.
I did a few tests and it does look like the first step will run but never finishes. So the job never proceeds to the next step and it never finishes.
Nothing in the windows event log, agent log, sql log, etc.
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks,
Rob
