I would go with Windows 2008 because IIS 7 comes with features that can add more value to your investment. And it will take much longer to depreciate.

  • Thank-you Gift Peddie May you let me know some details of the features that you are refering to? Any link or URL that I can refer to? Again thanks in advance.

  • IIS7 comes with a new feature called application.add which lets you add new applications and you can control what you do with command-line. You can also run applications in x86 mode and x64 mode and you can run older applications in classical mode. Go into system32 folder and run a search for applicationhost.config file which replaces the old machine.config file and you will see more about IIS7. Check the links below for some information about IIS7 but there is a lot more I am thinking of what I can add to test the capacity. In SSRS you may not need it but the old max length property was 4megs if you need to upload files you have to adjust it the new is 24megs before you need any adjustments.

I want to know how many application.add it takes to run out of capacity in IIS7 running x64 mode. Relevant hardware required.

    😉
