I've had a lot of issues installing SSMS 2008 on my Windows 7 machine(Home Premium 32 bit). I've read several topics online saying to download the 'with tools' versions and then upgrade it to SP1 which supposedly fixes the issue, but I haven't gotten any of them to work yet. Anyone have any links to a download that will work on Windows 7? I'm only looking for the express versions for my home machine.
I'd like SQL Express 2008 + SSMSE 2008.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate with VS2008 Team Suites, SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2008 and all runs without issues so maybe you could install VS2008 Express edition before installing SQL Server 2008 because my Windows 7 only complained about VS2005 which comes as BIDS for SQL Server 2005. The Home Premium runs IIS 7.5 without Windows authentication which comes with issues when used for web development but I am not saying that is your problem.
Kind regards,

Hi,
My setup wasn't exactly like yours, but a lot of "problems" were solved by running SSMS as administrator.
