I am running two Windows Servers 2008 with SQL Server 2008 Standard.
I configured mirroring on a small test database having one table. No Witness server.
The Principal server show the test database is Principal, Synchronized and the Mirror is Mirror, Synchronized/Restoring.
When I open Database Mirror Monitor I see Role Principal is in Mirroring State Synchronized but the Mirror's Role is Not connected.
I have forced failover in both directions with table edits between and the database came up on the mirror server normally.
I have not configured mirroring before and do not know what to expect from the Monitor. Is this monitor condition normal?

hi
You connected the server to the mirroing monitor using ip address or servername. If ip address change it to server name

My End Points are configured with server name and a valid available port.

So I figured it out. In Database Mirroring Monitor, from the Action menu, select Manage Server Instance Connections. Edit the Server Instance that does not connect and enter the correct credentials. Oh, Glory!
