how to create a .dtsconfig file...is that we add new package and give the extension .dtsconfig?can we edit that?when i create a new package under ssis packages ,it is replaced to miscellaneous .

A config file is just that: SSIS configuration settings.
To create one,: Menu > SSIS > Configuration. Click add and follow the wizard.
It does not add it to your solution. You need to do that manually if you want.
As for editing, any text or XML editor will work.

thanks a lot ...................if i need to run the package in production server i need to add the server name in the package as i need to schedule a job and any thing else do i need to add to the config file..
