Extracting pdf and doc data out of SQL Server

    Guys,we have a SQL Server 2005 where there are PDF and doc data stored in database.I am not the DBA for this server,just been asked to assist,so am not sure how the data is stored,most likely its in blob form.Now requirement is to extract this data out of the database in their original format ie pdf and doc.Is this possible using only SQL Server? If so can you elaborate on it.

    Can you guys elaborate on how the pdf and doc data can be directly redirected to a simple web browser(via HTTP endpoint probably) where it can be directly downloaded by user in the same doc or pdf format?

    No fancy application,just a simple web browser like IE which everybody has installed on their systems.
