first I have installed SQL Server 2000 and 2005.

After few days installed SQL Server 2008.

Now After installing the SQL Server 2008, I am frequently getting the error like, mainly when IE 8 is opened getting this error, after clicking ok button IE window get closed.

snapshot.exe failed, program is terminating ---- etc.. like that

Can anybody knows about the issue ?

Please let me know the solution.

    Thanks in Advance.

    Thank You.

  • SQL is not ment to run in that manner. Each edition you installed is fighting for memory on your system and process. There is not real point in troubleshooting that. You would be better of creating them each in a Virtual machine on your system so you can run them independent of each other, so to speak.

I am not sure about the error, but you are wrong in your assumption, I have 2000,2005 and 2008 all installed on my desktop machine at work, and there are no problems. I do have 2000 and 2005 services not running though.

I would consider using only 2008 and switching off the services for the other two. if it still doesnt work, i would consider doing a reinstall of sql 2008.
