I currently use Express 2008 on my home machine. I have found that the 4GB limit for a single DB is now becoming an issue to me. I have been reading through sites and MSDN and it appears that upgrading to Developer would take care of this problem for me. I use SQL Server for my own personal interest and it is not used in a production or multi-user environment. Does anyone have any thoughts on why one would stay with Express and not move up to Developer aside from the cost? Standard and Enterprise are just way to expensive for me. Also, would it be worth the time to migrate to MySQL instead of SQL Developer 2008?
Thanks,
Jarrod

If you are ready to spend around 50 dollars then it would be better to move to developer edition rather than putting efforts to migrate to mysql. Mysql has serious limitations for writing sql queries.
Sql developer edition has all features of enterprise edition. I really dont see negatives in moving from sql express to developer
