I have chinese in my database. When I run my report, I can see the text perfectly in SSRS and the report server.
When I export the report as a PFD, the report shows all boxes instead of the text.
When I export the report as a TIFF, the report comes out fine.
The issue is clearly a Adobe Reader Issue.
I have the latest version of adobe reader 9.1.2 and all the font packs but still no dice.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

There is a 230megs east Asian langauges file in regional that you could install to see if it fixes this problem, if not the other option is to either use SQL Server 2008 export to Word and then use Office save as PDF add in it is a separate download.

Thanks for the reply.
I think the problem is with Adobe not Office.
I have a concole application that sends out PDFs of a report in multiple languages, so I cant manually export them then send them out.
I need a fix on the Adobe side.

I did not say the problem is with Office, I was just giving you a different route that will remove your character conversion. If you have a console application then you need to consume one of the existing PDF generating dll look for it and you will find many. And you may need to use Chinese encoding in the console application.
