Sql Server Activity Monitor

  • Hi!

The activity monitor shows a lot of sleeping state process. Some of these sleeping state process have '0' open transactions.

I understand that the sleeping state process has work to do but is waiting for something, like a block or data input by the user.

    But my question is ...

is it normal to have more than 100 of this process and at least half of it with no open transactions ?

  • Each new query window that you open from client (SSMS) would also add an entry there. I dont think there is any problem with that!.Thanks.
