Failover test

  • Hi

I'm involved in a failover test today, some maintainence was due to be done after we've failed over.

The clustered SQL Server failed over to it's mirrored site (not clustered) and the mirroring was stopped.

the windows guys were then adding new storage, something went wrong and they now have to create a new MSCS cluster. My question is how will SQL Server respond when the service is started again. All disks will be named the same and therefore databsaefiles in the same location. I'm just concerned that having to rebuild the MSCS will result in having to run SQL Setup again.

    Any advice is much appreciated.

    thanks

    Paul

  • Yes if u will run MSCS for creating cluster server .... u need to install sql again..You database files will not be impacted ... you can attach uor db after installation

  • You can start from here >>>> http://www.jumpstarttv.com/clustering-sql-server-2005_33.aspx
