"TRANSACTIONAL REPLICATION, FULL RECOVERY MODEL AND SIMPLED RECOVERY MODEL"

  • I hava a transactional replication between server A and other server B.

Server B executes great calculations and for this reason the Log file grows very much. I don´t need backups Server B´s datas because I have maintenance plan in server A with backups. Both have a full recovery model, my question is: Can I Server A with full recovery model and Server B with simple recovery model??.

Server B is using updatable subscriptions and execute calculations too. This calculations are delivered al Server A later.

Server A is replied in Server B and Server B is replied in Server A to deliver this calculations.

    Thanks, very much.

  • If I am not mistaken, replication does not care what your recovery model is. It will not allow a transaction to be cleared from T-Log until it has been replicated.

  • Roy is correct. The FAQ says any recovery model works.
