Urgent .. Not able to apply Service Pack 1

  • Hi,

I have installed SQL Server 2008 32 bit on windows 2008 server 64 bit(R2) without any SP. But when I am applying SQL Server Sp1 it does not give me the instance and other details under "selected features" tab. It only display BOL & SQL client connectivity SDK, so I am not able to apply it to the Database engine.

    Please help me.

    Thanks in advance.

  • First off, you should install the 64-bit version of SQL Server 2008 on a Windows 2008 64-bit server.

Secondly, SQL Server 2008 SP1 has both a 32-bit and 64-bit version as noted below.

    SQLServer2008SP1-KB968369-x64-ENU.exe

    SQLServer2008SP1-KB968369-x86-ENU.exe

What version of the SP where you trying to install?

  • Thanks John, I did follow that and it installed successfully.
