    "TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier"

    a dts job failed because of above error.

    what is the meaning and how to resolve it.

    since the name TNS appeared I was suspicious about Oracle getting involved. Googled it and found many links for this. Most likely cause could be messed up entries in your tnsnames.ora file that you might have used to make a connection to Oracle.

    The message means a connection to a database was requested using a connect identifier, and the connect identifier specified could not be resolved into a connect descriptor using one of the naming methods configured.
