Hi guys,
I need some help to really validate the feasibility of what we are trying to do.
I did read the publishing PerformancePoint (PPS) to extranet white paper
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd861515.aspx
But still not sure if what we are doing is feasible.
What we have is an extranet with form based authentication, meaning external clients will NOT have an account in AD. The white paper mainly focused on Extranet PPS solution using ISA with a back end AD account. That's OK if we only need one user to connect back to SSAS (default App pool), but as we are also trying to set up form based authentication, where different client see different data, we cannot just use the default app pool credential.
I read somewhere that PPS and SSAS allow custom authentication pass via a customdata field. Hence theoretically I could still connect to SSAS via default app pool, and pass the user information from FBA via customdata field, and try to limit the view view special MDX (maybe model role as another dimension).
But I just cannot find more information on if that's possible, and how it works.
Does anyone have any experience with that?
Any pointers will help!!
Thanks
