SQL 2005 Express and SSMS

    Can you connect a SQL 2005 Express server within a SQL 2005 SSMS (Database engine) on my client? Even if I connect using \SQLExpress, the error message says that the remote connections are not allowed although I have changed the SQL Surface Manager to enable remote connections (TCP and pipes). I can access the server through other methods and all is running smoothly.

    Try to configure on SQL Tools to allow remote connections, this might have been disabled, can you connect from the server, i mean to local server 🙂

    Remote connections are enabled on the server itself (SQL Surface Configuration Tool). Is there somewhere else that remote connections need to be enabled?
