When I go to DB properties --> Transaction Log Shipping --> Transaction Log Backup Setting dialog box
Here we have two options
Network path to the backup folder
and
If the backup folder is located on the primary server, type the local path to the folder
In my case I have to go for second one i.e. local path
When I give local path Ok buttion is not enabled
I have to give the both network path and local path
I am expecting to work by providing only local path....
Find the attached sceen shot
Can some one comment or help on this.

As far as I know, network path is required and local path is optional. It's not that you specify one or the other.

What is the use of the second option i.e
"If the backup folder is located on the primary server, type the local path to the folder"

if you backup your tran logs to a network path, ur primary server agent server should have write permissions on the shared folder and ur secondary server agent shud have read permission.
In this case, you're keeping the tran log backups on the local server (primary), still the secondary server requires read access to this folder and must be a shared folder.

Here my question is
In SQL Server 2005 while configuring log shipping we have two options
1. One for giving network shared path.
2. Local path if the backup folder is on local server.
Any how you can't configure the Log Shipping without giving the network shared path.
Here What is the use of giving the local path if the backup folder is on local computer.
