Hi all,
i have created maintenance plan under sql 2000 for backups and some of the backup jobs dont seeem to appearn when i look into msdb.dbo.sysdbmaintplan_history table.
has anyone come across anything like this?

query backupset table in the msdb to see if backups are happening. Also, are you taking transaction log backups too using the maint plans? there may be some databases which are in simple recovery model so tran log backups wont apply to them.

Are the jobs failing & does the job history show any error. If so please paste the error.

Edit your maintenance plan and go to reporting TAB
Refer History on this server .
below this there is a checkbox if its checked the mentioned table would have been otherwise you wont find any data
"Write history to the table msdb.dbo.sysmaintplan_history' .Drop and recreate maintenance plan
