Deployment Failure

  • We're trying to deploy a report in SQL2k5 on Win2k3 server. IIS is installed

& running. Using the BI user interface we're trying to deploy the report with the Debug Start Without Debugging tool. We're prompted for a user ID & password. We enter these values but never get past this login screen. We have no idea what is stopping us from logging in - we've tried using a local administrator account, but nothing, especially no reason why we fail. I don't see any errors or warnings any logs either.

I've checked the SQL Report Configuration & all is well there.

We've configured SQL & SQL Reporting services to run with a local account

(non-administrator). SQL runs fine; Reporting service is running, but since

this is the 1st report we've tried to deploy, we don't know how well.

SQL & IIS are on the same server.

The database we're trying to connect to came in an application that also installed Apache web server. I modified IIS Default web site to use port 8080 rather than 80. In the Deployment wizard I've tried forcing port 8080, but still don't get anywhere.

Right now I don't know if the problem is IIS/Apache or SQL Reporting configuration. I tried to connect to http://localhost/reports/pages/folder.aspx - that isn't working, and I know I need to get that connection working for Reporting to work.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

  • What errors do you when trying to connect to "http://localhost/reports/pages/folder.aspx" from the server?

Have you given the required permissions to access report server?

Have you tried accessing the report server using SSMS and using local administrator's account?

    --Ramesh

  • We're now getting into the reports pages with http://localhost:8080/reports/pages/folder.aspx.

However, if I try to open the report I get a logon failure - nor was I prompted for a user ID & password.

I can see the Reports database in SSMS, but how do I open a report in SSMS?

    Thanks
