Hi Desmond,
Please post the error message that you are getting when you try to start the services. You can get the information from the System Event log and the SQL Logs.

Windows event viewer is probably the easiest otion - Are you new to Windows as well as SQl Server? If so you may find you need to read up on basic wuindows tasks as well.
Easiest way to get to the event viewer is Start/Run/ and type eventvwr

CLICK THE SQL SERVER 2005 NETWORK CONFIGRATION
DISABLED VIA.
