Second instance backup Maintenance Plan fails on SQL 2005

  Can someone help me I have a problem when I execute a backup maintenance plan on a second instance it get the error message below.

  Execute Maintenance Plan

  - Execute maintenance plan. Backup Plan (Error)

  Messages

  * Execution failed. See the maintenance plan and SQL Server Agent job history logs for details.

  You should do what the error tells you to do, check

  1. Job step history (if it's simple few lines trivial errors)

  2. Go into Maint. Plan page, right-click on the Plan, "View History", it will show you detail histories and errors

  Another place to check is Event Viewer -> Application
