I installed SQL Server 2005 dev edition on my PC with reporting services, I then installed SQL Server 2008 Dev with reporting services so I had the two running on the one machine.
Everything works fine except SSRS, I have uninstalled the 2005 SSRS but the 2008 version still does not work, there are no virtual directories in the default website in IIS, how do I get SSRS 2008 to recreate these?
Thanks

Did you configure RS after the setup ?
If not run "Reporting Services Configuration" from the start menu or RSConfigTool.exe through explorer. TYhe configuration tool will then create the virtual directories for you.

I had run it in 2005 and it was working but then after I installed 2008, neither worked so I uninstalled 2005 as I wanted to use 2008 but it looks as though it hasn't initialised correctly, the configuration looks like it thinks everything is fine but when you click on the URL for the report manager or web service you get 'page cannot be displayed' when you look in IIS there are no virtual directories that it should have created, is there a way to get it to re-initialise or should I just uninstall 2008 and re-install it again?
Thanks

I think SQL 2008, IIS is not required, even if you configured, you can work like SQL 2005. Check New Features of SQL 2008 in MSDN site.

Thank you, this helped, having realised that 2008 did not use IIS I changed the ports to 8080 instead of the default 80 in the configuration manager and it stopped trying to use the default website on port 80 in IIS. It then worked except I was getting an encryption keys error and it wouldn't let me delete the keys but then I eventually found http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159086.aspx and I granted the rights to the services user in the registry that it suggested and it all now works.
Thanks
