But I read in bol that we can tune a particular query. could you please explain me how to do this?

Hi,
You have to open the query in Management Server. From there you can select option "Database Engine Tuning Advisor" from the menu "Tools". This will pars the query to the DTA.

Sorry, my mistake...
In SSMS you open the query. There you have to right click the query and then choose "analyse query in DTA"

... or save the query in a file, and specify file with full path in the DTA.
