Hello,
I upgraded our SQL Server to SP2 before Christmas. However I need to upgrade the tools on my own workstation as these still show as the original version.
Our server is 64 bit edition, but my local machine is 32 bit. If I downlaod the 32bit version of SP2 it failed with error "blank". Is this a known issue?
Thanks

Do you have any additional information or details that you can provide? SP3 for SQL Server 2005 was released in December 2008, is this what you are trying to upgrade to?
SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 (SP3) – now available

Well its SP2 off the Microsoft site. Its the x86 version (as I'm on a 32 bit machine). I have already installed the 64 bit SP2 on the actual SQL Server. So I just need my local workstation install to upgrade too!
I wondered if this "blank error" message was a common complaint. Wondered = hoped.

You should be able to go in the following location (depending on where your install was done, but assuming just the default) - C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\LOG\ and within this folder you should find a summary.txt file with details of the service pack installation and there will be more details in a folder that has a date and time incorporated into it for each time you have tried to perform this install.
Hopefully this can shed some light on what is causing the issue.

Thanks for that info. Checked it and no sign of any install since the original in October last year! Therefore I will assume something like permissions on this workstation are preventing the install. Maybe.
