I have a maintenance plan running on SQL Server 2000 sp4 that makes a database backups and then uses TSM command to archive the bak files to tapes.
I have been having issues
1. My backup runs successfully and the files gets archived to tapes successfully too but after both steps are complete I get message that the step failed.
any suggestions would be great..
Thanks,
Venkat.

Any specifics on your error message and/or anything in the SQL Server error log?

Check your job to make sure it is not set to close with failure.
And the last step in the job is configure to return success/failure ..
On your second post it says the step failed? So are you sure you data got backed up to tape properly?
Thanks.
