Hi,
I'm looking at central management servers and the facility to execute queries on all servers and/or databases in a server group. A very useful facility for pulling back information about the entire enterprise.
But, it strikes me as a very easy way to seriously damage the servers and/or databases in a server group by inadvertently executing Updates, inserts, deletes, drop etc. I am assuming that there must be a way of preventing such career limiting mistakes (other than simply relying on people not doing it).

To me it seems like they never really finished the CMS functionality off.
I think it's a fantastic idea, and I use it daily.
A read-only option would also be great - and the only way I can think of working around this is creating credentials on all the servers with limited access, and setting up the group of registrations to use the limited rights access.
I would love to get more info on CMS - and I'm trying to find out how to access them from jobs etc.
They seem to be a bit of a mystery at this point in time....
