Unabel to view Report Server.

  • Hi,

I am new to SSRS.Can any one please clarify me wether report server is installed by default while installing SSRS. I am not able to find the report manager at the following location:

    http://localhost/reports

Also i am not able to view any server instances for Reporting services in Management studio when i try to register a reporting services server. Also iam not able to find any reporting server instances when i open the "Reporting Services configuration tool".I believe SSRS is installed on my machine as i am able to create Business intelligence projects in BIDS.

  • Is the Reporting Services service running when you look into SQL Server Configuration Manager? Also, you can look into Administrative Tools \ Services for the SQL Server Reporting Services service (same result).

  • Hi Ken,

I am not able to find any thing related to reporting services in configuration manager. As i am able to create Reporting services projects using BIDS does it mean that Report Server is installed. What should i do to get the service running? Have i missed out some config options while installing SSRS? Please find the snapshot of the config manager on my machine.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Kiran

  • Based on the image you provided you do not have reporting services installed on your PC. Did you install Express with Advanced services? Reporting Services does not come with the regular Express edition.

  • What Jack is saying is you need the edition in the link below to develop Reports in Express. If things are the same you may need to uninstall the standard Express to install the Express Advanced.

    Hi Jack,Gift

  • I have looked at your attachment that is why I gave you the link to download the tool kit edition the one needed to develop and run reports. So remove your standard Express and install the one in the link I posted.
