Installing sql 2008 client tools on box with VS.NET 2008

    Our develepers have Visual Studio.NET 2008 installed on their boxes. I want to install the sql 2008 client tools (e.g. Management Studio) on their boxes but I read we need to apply Visual Studio.NET SP1 before upgrading their sql tools. Please comment on this assertion. (For example, did I misread the article? Is it indeed true? Or is the assertion, itself, simply false.)

    I verified it. One does need VS.NET 2008 SP1 installed before the sql 2008 client tools can be installed on the same box.
