Report Layout

  • Hi All,

I have a report contain 16 columns total. So the layout Size is 14.75in x 0.85in in Properties. The report print in 2 pages normaly.

However, I set a parameter "Show Columns" to give user the choice to choose only the number of the columns they want to see.

For example, they selected only 5 columns and it shows only 5 columns in 1 page. But when they print it out, it print the 1 page with 5 columns and second page blank.

What should I do to set the report print only ONE PAGE when user selected the number of the comlumns that could fit in one page?

Any help must be very appreciated.

  • I believe you'll need to adjust your report "Body" size based on the number of columns parameter...the printing is based on the "Body" size and not the columns....

  • Thank you Bob.

However, I can not set the body size width less than 8.5in because I have 16 columns total in my design. In each columns I set to hidden if the parameter is false so it not show at the run time.

On the Layout Design, it shows all 16 columns so it did not let me change the body size. Right now the minimum that fit 16c is 14.25in X 1.375in.

Is anyone have the same problem?

    Any input is much appreciated.
