How do you know what patches are already installed and what needs to be installed on
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.3042.00 (Intel X86) Feb 9 2007 22:47:07 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation Standard Edition on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 2)

see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321185
you are on SP2.
SP3 is now out, you dont 'need ' to install it if you have no problems, but I would look to be installing SP3 in order to stay current and have all the latest security fixes.
