Hello,
I am testing a Full-Text Search thesaurus, and have not been able to get it to accept CDATA sections. I want to be able to specifiy stitution tag text that can include punctuation (such as a hyphen). FTS will not parse the thesaurus if sub elements contain some punctuation (- ' # $ etc.), and logs an error. If I use a CDATA section, an error is also logged, but in both cases where an error occurs, FTS continues to run and return (incorrect) results. Not sure why it returns any results if the thesaurus is invalid.
Here is the Windows Event Log message:
The thesaurus file C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\FTData\tsenu.xml for lcid 1033 has invalid format. Please edit the file and correct it. Use retail tracing for detailed error description. See user documentation on fulltext retail tracing.Component: MicrosoftIndexer
Any thoughts on how to solve the punctuation problem? Here is the simplified thesaurus:

Thanks

Sorry, the FTS thesuarus XML file does not display. What I want to know is if there is a way to include some punctuation in the the text conent of elements, whether by using CDATA sections or some other method. Thank you
