SQLServer2005-KB948109-x86-ENU.exe not recognizing SQL installed on the machine

    I have SQL server 2005 enterprize edition installed on my server when I run SQLServer2005-KB948109-x86-ENU.exe package

    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms08-040.mspx

    it comes back with message stating

    "This machine does not have a package that matches this installation package. My SQL server version is 9.00.3042.00, OS is Microsoft Windows NT 5.2 (3790), I have another machine that is running the same SQL server and I was able to successfully install the security patch on it. After the security patch is install the SQL server version changed to

    9.00.3068.00. Only difference that I saw was that the SQL server I'm having issue with is installed on E drive, could that cause any issue??

    Is it x64 machine?

    x86 update does not run on x64 machine.

    no its windows 2003 32 bit.
