I want to read EMAIL into SQL Server. I used to do this in SQL 2000 using SQLMAIL and xp_readmail. I looked up xp_readmail and discovered that it is being depricated. Does anyone know the preferred method for reading EMAIL in SQL 2005?

There isn't one. Not native anyway. Exchange can connect to SQL Server and feed stuff in there (or so I understand, haven't actually used that). I read on a Microsoft forum (http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3618859&SiteId=1) that there would be a feature in SQL 2008 to do this, but I can't find one with a simple Google search. Not sure if it exists or not.
Keep using the code you're using for now, and beat on MS for the feature you want.
