I apologize for this being a bit off topic, really a Windows question
At my previous job, I was given permission to manage Active Directory groups within a specifc OU for SQL. So I could add or remove Windows accounts in specific SQL related AD groups. At my new position, I only have the ability to view the AD groups, not make any changes. The network admin agrees that I can have similar access to my previous position, but is "too busy" to set it up.
It's a pain to have to wait for his assistant to make the changes for me.
How much work is really involved ??

Nevermind .... I asked the Network assistant and he set me up in 1 minute.

No work.
I'd make sure that you need groups as well before creating new ones. Sometimes there are "Job" groups set up for people doing jobs that you can reuse.
