Hi,
I'm attempting to install a second named-instance of SQL Server 2005 x64 on a cluster.
But some how the installer never seems to get pass the [System Configuration Check] screen.
It's as if it's stuck somewhere. Normally, it's quite quick and will run the check and present you with the [Next] button. But I've waited for more than 30 minutes and nothing happens ...
Have rebooted both nodes. And I have also checked to make sure that COM+ is properly configures as per Microsoft's KB article below:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143690(SQL.90).aspx
Have anyone seen this issue before? Any idea how to resolve it?

I haven't had this exact issue before, but be aware that many of the 64bit tools seem to be a bit worse for wear.
For instance, when doing imports/exports from a job through SSIS, it won't work unless you call the 32Bit .exe. The 64Bit one simply doesn't work.
I've found several mine-fields such as this.
