Hello,
I am trying to copy a database using the SQL Server 2005 Import/Export Wizard.
The wizard copies all of the tables and their data, but does not copy the keys or indexes.
I do not see anything in the Wizard that allows the user to specify what objects to copy.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Harold

The SQL2005 Import/Export wizard doesn't have the object copy option that the SQL2000 version had. You're stuck with scripting the keys and indexes seperately or creating an SSIS package and using the Transfer SQL Server Objects task.

Greg,
I wondered about that. I can script the source database keys and other objects and run the script against the desttination database.
Thanks for your help

It is a better practice to perform the data transfer first, then apply the indexes. And it runs a whole lot faster.
Perhaps, that is why MS dropped the Object Copy feature. Or is it because they were never able to get it to work right in 2000?
