Integrity Placements is seeking a Senior DBA / Database Developer for one of our clients in San Diego. This is a full-time, salaried position.
Job Responsibilities:
• Design, develop and maintain efficient database and data integration applications
• Work with customers, vendors and internal operations on defining and documenting data integration interfaces and processes
• Develop operational documentation and procedures for database systems
• Tune database applications for optimum performance
• Mentor junior database/data integration developers
• Resolve helpdesk tickets
Job Qualifications:
• 3+ years experience as a SQL DBA/Database Developer/Data Integration Developer
• Prior experience developing database and data integration applications for complex large scale business systems
• Temperament, comfort-level, and experience working with production databases
• Prior experience working with stored procedures, T-SQL queries, DTS, constraints, views and partitioning
• ETL development experience with DTS and SQL 2005 SSIS; Data Integrator a plus
• Data integration design experience
• Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills w/experience in participating in testing processes
• Team player with the capability to present and support their point of view with balanced technical and business reasons
• Excellent written and oral communications skills

The bullets say $100k but the "3 years experience" says less. Certainly would be nice to see these job reqs framed in terms of a mutually beneficial relationship. Basically: 1) Here is what you will do for us, 2) Here's what we will do for you. Or to put it another way: Salary? Benefits? Perks?

James, I think that the bullets are actually talking about 2 different positions. A senior production DBA, 100K and a development DBA specializing in integratino and ETL, 70-80k. I'm guessing that neither the firm postiing or the actual client really have a clue as to what they really might need. Oh, I forgot to mention, the prices I quoted are Chicago metro area wages, San Diego area living adjustment, add 30%.
