hello,
i dnt know if this is the right place to post this...im new..could anyone please tell me the differences between ERWIN and VISIO...thx in advance

Short answer, Visio, without additional tools, is for documenting small database entity relationship diagrams. ERWin is an enterprise scale er diagraming and database generation tool. While each one will display an entity relationship, other than that, they don't have much in common.

I'd go for erwin or some other db design tool. Visio is excellent for diagramming all sorts of things and is ok if you just want to have a diagram of the table structures for a small database but it doesn't cope well with large numbers of tables and is not too good for designing or developing a db.
