free sql server 2005 bible

  • can anyone plz tell me from where to get sql server 2005 bible for free

  • Do you mean softcopy (PDF) in the Net?

I suggest you to purchase the hardcopy (book). It will be convenient to read. You can underline the points that are usefull to you.

Buy the book. It will be a good investment. You can earn ten times of what you spent on the book.

  • Unless you are looking for a "bible" series, the best source, in my opinion, for information on SQL Server 2005 is Books Online and it's free. 🙂

I agree with Suresh, though... buy a hard copy book you like so you can read it and make any notes. There are many to choose from and you could do a search here to find several opinions on which book is best.

Are these free e-books, copyright-compliant? I cannot find any statements to that effect on that site.

  • If not, it's a good idea to remove that post asap (just my $.02, of course)

  • That link from Mahesh was not accessible through my company VPN. It's on a blacklist that returned this message:

"The URL you entered is categorized as Illegal Software and has been blocked to maintain the business interests of" our company.

  • Authors work hard on these books. Pirating them or downloading them for free when the author has not agreed is wrong. You want to get paid for your work; pay the authors for theirs.

    The link has been removed.

  • Well said, Steve.

I often wonder how may people in our industry realize that their jobs, careers and the whole or IS and the Software industry is dependent on intellectual property rights being respected.

  • I totally agree with most...Buy a hard copy.

    E.g. http://www.amazon.com/Server-2005-Bible-Paul-Nielsen/dp/0764542567

It's only around 30$ and might be even less for a used book.

  • Again - same link as before. It's a WareZ site, which means that most likely these items are up there pirated/with no authorization.

Someone worked hard on those books, let's try not to encourage stealing their work.....

Your lack of planning does not constitute an emergency on my part...unless you're my manager...or a director and above...or a really loud-spoken end-user..All right - what was my emergency again?

  • I have sent Paul Nielsen an email letting him know about the WareZ site.

SQL = Scarcely Qualifies as a Language

  • I have removed the link and am sending notes to publishers as well. This is not acceptable.

Authors cannot make a living on books, but this is supplemental income for them and they work hard, many hours across months to get things written. Pay them for their time if you need the resource.

  • I find it amazing that people can work in the IT/Software industry and promote this sort of copy write infringement.

Also most of these books are around $30 even cheaper second hand, or free from the library. Surely for a professional career that is a small investment.
