Does anyone know when RC1 will be available? I have seen some folks say that they have it, but I can not find it at the Download center.

Last I heard, they were still releasing in August. I haven't seen any definite release dates, but I haven't seen anything that said it was slipping.
Here's a post from RedDevNews:

I can't find any other news or comments from anything that resembles an official source that isn't more than a month old.

Thanks, Grant. I guess I'll download RC0 then.

Someone beat me to it.
I'm 2.1GB of 3.1GB down now. Not moving too fast 🙁

RC1 was a private release, not available to the general public. Not that it matters now.

It sure makes the editorial I just read in SQL Server Magazine sound a little weird. He mentions the release "later this year" of 2008. I thought it sounded strange when I read it, but then a couple of hours later, there's the post announcing it was out. Wild stuff.
Crap! This means I have to rework my sample code for PASS... AGAIN!

Aha! Thanks, Gail. That's one mystery solved, anyway.
Downloaded RTM last night, can't install it until tomorrow though...

I started downloading it last night, stopped when I noticed the size. 3 GB download will use my entire month's internet allowance.
Going so see if I can persuade someone at the local MS office to download it for me.

Heh. I'd send you my copy, but somehow I don't think that would help. 🙂
